Jul. 5th, 2012 12:26 pmSo, Proxies are kind of godmode. They are ridiculously powerful for no clear reason other than because the Creators thought WHY NOT. And some of those powers might cause you inconvenience. So I'm writing this permissions post.
MIND GAMES: This is the big one: Proxies have the ability to create visual and auditory illusions, as well as the ability to create visions and dreams within another person's mind. This has manifested in such ways as Proxy One projecting himself into Vincent's mind to lecture him about perspective and force him to come to terms with the fact that he is a Proxy, or the Swan Proxy showing Vincent a dream to convince him he was just a fragment of Re-L's mind, or Proxy One again making Raul Creed hallucinate that Vincent was taunting him.
I don't expect Vincent to be fond of using this power after all the times he's been on the recieving end of it. He most likely won't use it at all unless it's to beneficial effect, but I figured I should put it down anyway because this is something that he can do.
HERE'S HOW YOUR CHARACTER CAN KILL VINCENT: The source of a Proxy's immortality is the fact that they are made from Amrita cells, which have an impenetrable membrane and can reproduce indefinitely. They don't age, they can regrow limbs and recover from injuries that would kill a regular human being, they are functionally immortal, they are resistant to all kinds of damage. There are only three ways to harm them:
- shoot them with FP shells, available in limited quantities for use against the Darkness. (Thanks a lot, Daedalus.) A direct hit to a vital area will kill him in a matter of seconds. But if you DON'T get him in a vital area, and you hit a limb instead, he'll just rip it off, regrow it, and now you have his undivided attention and will likely be in very deep shit.
- get another Proxy to attack them. An injury inflicted by a Proxy neutralizes the Amrita cells, and the wound will have to heal normally. Good luck convincing Re-L or Proxy One to try, though.
- weaponize sunlight. Note that for some reason, Vincent appears to be more resistant to sunlight than most Proxies. It still weakens his powers, but he won't burn up the way Proxy One might.
To make a long story short, Vincent will recover from any wound not caused by one of those three things pretty fast. That said, he's not totally immune to damage; stuff can still temporarily hurt him, especially if he's in human form.
So here are the questions:
[OOC]
1) Backtagging: Yes.
2) Threadhopping: Yes.
3) Fourthwalling: I'd be surprised if your character knew Ergo Proxy, but no. Vincent has enough existential issues without that on top of it.
4) Offensive subjects (elaborate): Yes.
[IC]
1) Hugging this character: Sure
2) Kissing this character: Unless you're Re-L, he wouldn't be comfortable with it.
3) Flirting with this character: It'd probably go over his head, but go ahead.
4) Fighting with this character: She's not a
5) Injuring this character (include limits and severity): You'd have to work pretty hard to injure him. If you did manage to find a way, I'd rather he not be permanently crippled, but otherwise I'm fine.
6) Killing this character: Discuss it with me first.
7) Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Discuss it with me first
